Privacy Policy

Effective October 10, 2026

The short version:

The financial and personal details you enter into LayoffOS -- income, expenses, deadlines, and so on -- stay in your own browser. We don't upload it to a central account, and we don't sell it. We handle only the basic purchase information (like your email) needed to process payment and unlock the product, anonymous page-view statistics about how the site is used, and, on our public pages only, Google Ads measurement that tells us whether an ad led to a purchase.

This Privacy Policy explains what information LayoffOS (a product of Elevate Anew, available at elevateanew.com) collects and how it's used.

Information you enter into the product

In this version of LayoffOS, everything you enter -- income, savings, expenses, severance and benefits details, job search activity, and similar -- is stored locally in your browser's storage on the device you're using. It is not transmitted to or stored on our servers, it isn't synced between devices, and we don't have access to it unless you deliberately choose to export and share it yourself (Settings → Export My Data).

If you open the demo, its example data is kept in that browser tab's temporary session storage, separate from your own plan, and is deleted when you close the tab.

Purchase information

When you buy LayoffOS Complete, payment is handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe collects what it needs to process your payment (such as your email address and card details); we don't store your card details ourselves. We receive limited purchase information from Stripe (such as your email and purchase confirmation) so we can unlock the product for you and provide support if needed. We don't keep a separate customer database: your purchase record lives in Stripe, and we check it there when needed.

If you arrived through a link that tells us where it was shared (for example, one from our ads or social posts) or from another website, your browser remembers that source for up to 30 days. It stays on your device unless you start a purchase, in which case we attach it to your Stripe checkout so we can see which of our marketing brings in customers. This source information is never used to track you on other sites. (Google Ads measurement, described below, is separate.)

If you use Restore Purchase in Settings, the email address you type is sent to our server only to look up whether a completed purchase exists for it in Stripe.

Checkout reminder emails

Stripe's checkout page may ask whether you'd like to receive emails from us. If you agree and then leave checkout without finishing, we may send one reminder email with a link to complete your purchase. It's sent through our email provider, Resend, and we note on your Stripe customer record that it was sent so you don't get it twice. If you don't agree, we won't send it.

The free checklist

The free First 24 Hours checklist can be downloaded and used without providing any personal information.

Cookies and analytics

LayoffOS uses browser local storage to save your in-product data on your own device. This is not a tracking cookie, and it is never shared with us.

After a purchase is confirmed with Stripe, we set one functional cookie (named los_entitlement) that remembers LayoffOS Complete is unlocked in that browser. It contains the email you paid with, the time it was set, and a security signature that prevents tampering. Scripts on the page can't read it. It lasts up to 10 years because purchases don't expire. It isn't used for tracking or advertising.

We use Vercel Web Analytics, provided by our hosting company, to see anonymous, aggregated page-view statistics: which pages are visited and when, the referring site, approximate location, browser, and device type. It doesn't use third-party cookies, isn't tied to your name or email, and doesn't follow you across other websites. It never receives anything you enter into the product. Our walkthrough video shows only an image from this site until you press play; it then loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that playback. We also count a few anonymous product events through the same service — for example, that someone started the demo, finished setup, started checkout, printed a plan, or downloaded a backup — with no amounts, dates, notes, or anything else you enter. Each of those counts includes the kind of link or site that first brought you here (for example "instagram" or "google"), so we can tell which places are actually helpful to people.

We advertise on Google Search. To learn whether those ads lead to purchases, our public pages (the homepage, guides, the First 24 Hours checklist, and these legal pages) and the purchase confirmation page load the Google tag. It sets cookies on this site (such as _gcl_au, and _gcl_aw if you arrived from one of our ads) and lets Google record that you visited and, if you buy, that a purchase happened and what it cost. We don't send Google your name, your email, your order number, or anything you enter into the planner, and the tag doesn't load on the planner screens. We've turned off remarketing and ad personalization for this tag, so we don't use it to follow you with ads around the web. Google's own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) covers how Google handles this data. To opt out, block cookies for this site, use a browser or extension that blocks ad trackers, or turn off personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run LayoffOS: Stripe (payments), Vercel (website hosting and page-view analytics), Google (measuring our Google Search ads), and Resend (sending checkout reminder emails). They handle information only as needed to provide those services.

We don't sell your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

Your choices

Because your product data lives in your browser, clearing this site's browser data or using Settings → Reset All Data removes it. You can export a copy at any time from Settings before doing so, and import it later to restore it. Clearing cookies also removes the unlock cookie; use Restore Purchase in Settings with the email you paid with to unlock again. To ask about, correct, or delete purchase information we hold (such as your email on file with Stripe), contact us below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
